Presenting Lexie and Jenny
Lexie & Jenny are
the best of friends, and are fashioned after real little girls, each
with her own personality. Redheaded Lexie is outgoing and mischievous
- she isn’t afraid to try anything! Shy, careful Jenny is always being
dragged along for the fun. They live in an old-fashioned neighbourhood,
with tire swings and playhouses, and chalk for drawing hop scotches,
where they use their lucky chains.
The dolls are the creations of NIADA artist Heather Maciak.
They are eight inches (20 cm) tall, and are made of the most beautiful
porcelain, with ball jointed bodies, painted eyes and mohair wigs.
Their costuming is a collaborative effort between the artist and Rosemarie
Ionker of Boneka.

The girls are ready for play,
dressed in soft flannel jumpers
over striped t-shirts and tights.
Hand embroidery over felt
medallions
adds a touch of whimsy
to their costumes,
and leather t-strap shoes
complete their ensembles.
They are limited to an edition of 101 each in these costumes.

“Dressy Lexie and
Jenny”
Lexie wears a silk dress with a hand-embroidered organdy collar, while
Jenny models a hand embroidered batiste pinafore over a red print
puff-sleeved dress. They have been allowed to have their hair combed
out & caught up in beautiful wide hair ribbons for this special
occasion.
Jenny is very excited to be all dressed up in her beautiful new
costume, while Lexie, who is always getting into mischief,
has managed to stay out of trouble long enough to have her portrait
taken!
They are limited to an edition of 75 of each doll in these costumes.

“ Elfin Lexie and
Jenny”
I have always wanted to create
an Elfin creature, with antennae & tiny wings & funny little shoes
with curled-up toes. This is the child’s version of that
vision-whimsical and appealing, but still in the world
of a child’s imagination. These two little monkeys are all set to get
into lots of mischief! Their stripey tights & t-shirts are topped by
adorable felt jumpers, embellished with hand embroidered felt flowers.
Stocking caps and bright leather Maryjanes complete their ensembles.
Can you picture Lexie, scuttling through the bushes in her backyard,
playing at being an elf and dragging poor little Jenny along with her?
